چکیده

Illuminating tissue with pulsed electromagnetic waves generates acoustic waves inside an object which can be measured and converted into a three dimensional (3d) image. This text is concerned with a twostep reconstruction method where the acoustic pressure is measured with circular integrating detectors. In the first step reconstruction formulas for some kind of projection of the source distribution are derived in the second step an inversion formula for a circular radon transform on the sphere is developed.

Exact Series Reconstruction in Photoacoustic Tomography with Circular Integrating Detectors

A method for photoacoustic tomography is presented that uses circular integrals of the acoustic wave for the reconstruction of a three-dimensional image. Image reconstruction is a two-step process: In the first step data from a stack of circular integrating are used to reconstruct the circular projection of the source distribution. In the second step the inverse circular Radon transform is appl...

Improving tangential resolution with a modified delay-and-sum reconstruction algorithm in photoacoustic and thermoacoustic tomography.

Spatial resolution in photoacoustic and thermoacoustic tomography is ultrasound transducer (detector) bandwidth limited. For a circular scanning geometry the axial (radial) resolution is not affected by the detector aperture, but the tangential (lateral) resolution is highly dependent on the aperture size, and it is also spatially varying (depending on the location relative to the scanning cent...

Photoacoustic tomography with a limited-aperture planar sensor and a reverberant cavity

Biomedical photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is a soft-tissue imaging modality which combines the high spatial resolution of ultrasound (US) with the contrast and spectroscopic opportunities afforded by imaging optical absorption. Planar US arrays composed of piezoelectric or optical detector elements with small element sizes and fast acquisition times are readily available, making them an attract...

Fast Reconstruction Algorithms for the Thermoacoustic Tomography in Certain Domains with Cylindrical or Spherical Symmetries

We propose three fast algorithms for solving the inverse problem of the thermoacoustic tomography corresponding to certain acquisition geometries. Two of these methods are designed to process the measurements done with point-like detectors placed on a circle (in 2D) or a sphere (in 3D) surrounding the object of interest. The third inversion algorithm works with the data measured by the integrat...

Reconstruction Formulas for Photoacoustic Sectional Imaging

The literature on reconstruction formulas for photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is vast. The various reconstruction formulas differ by used measurement devices and geometry on which the data are sampled. In standard photoacoustic imaging (PAI), the object under investigation is illuminated uniformly. Recently, sectional photoacoustic imaging techniques, using focusing techniques for initializing a...
